Beep beep!

Most of the time, my playground is mommy's car.

This is because we take 30 minutes to get to kindy in the morning, 15 minutes to daycare in the afternoon and up to 1 hour to get home in the evenings.

These are among the things I learnt being in the car:

Colors

Mommy would point to a car and ask what color it is. She has finally stopped asking because I got bored and would deliberately say the wrong color. Of course I can name these colors:

Different types of vehicles

I feel it is my obligation to alert mommy everytime I see a bus, lorry, moto, twactor, twain or o-plane passing by. And considering we live near the airport, highway and the rail lines, she does get alerted a lot hee hee.





Landmarks

On the way to school, I would see a Pizza Hut, the airport and a lot of broken aeroplanes waiting to be fixed.

So for a change, after being a passenger for the past 2.5 years, last Friday mommy let me drive instead.

Although Mr Paddington looked curiously like Mr Piggington, he was a good sport and let me be his taxi driver for the evening. 

Can't wait to get my driver's licence!

Things that make me go ooh!

A LOT of things can make a kid excited. Of course there's the usual toys, dollies, ice cream, cartoons ...  but these are just some things that are my pet favourites:

1. House keys - they are fun to hide. And whenever mommy loses them, Wan will have to put her evening routine on hold and wait to open the door for me.

Nothing beats having things my way hee hee.

2. Office ID tag - There's just something about the coarse material hanging around your neck, and that square piece of plastic bouncing between your legs when you walk.

3. Water bottles - because they hold water, which is a lot of fun in itself.

Once I'm done drinking, I can give my shirt, my toys and mommy's shirt drinks too. 

Plus they have strings that I can put around my neck (refer item 2).

4. Wide open spaces - Freeeeeeedoommmmmmm!!!!!!

5. Kitties - and doggies, and birds, and squirrels if it was up to me!

Tanabata and kimono

Today we had the Tanabata celebration in kindy.

According to Miss Adrina, it's the star/ wishing festival. According to Wiki, well it's a lot more complicated so we shall stick to the star/ wishing/ 7th day of the 7th month festival version.

As usual mommy had no clue and made me wear uniform.

However, Kana my friend was kind enough to lend me her red kimono! And best of all, her mommy let me keep it!

Prickly me

When mommy said it was theme day and I had to come as a plant, I didn't understand what she meant.

Until we reached school and she made me wear this:

Fun with felines

We have a cat in the house. His name is Ashley, and he is almost 11 years old.

I am rarely allowed to play with him because mommy says he is fierce and feisty.

I find that hard to believe. I mean look at him ... right?

To compensate for my deprivation, we had lunch in Peter & Jane today, where the birds chirp happily, play dogs act all cute and cuddly, and the occasional squirrel comes out to play.

First we had bread.

Then we had kitties!

 

We tried to take the small kitty home but he got all scared when an aeroplane flew above us.

Of fishies and moss balls

Last Sunday, we went to the pet store and papa bought us some treats.

Papa gave me 2 little fishies called guppies. On the first day they played catch all the time.

After one night, the blue one mysteriously disappeared, leaving the other one swimming happily in his little home.

My surviving guppy looks a lot like this (with longer tail):

Wan put it on the kitchen counter coz I kept trying to chew the little pebbles I find in the water.

Mommy, on the other hand, chose this:

She calls him Bustamam. At first she wanted to call him Alfred (for some reason she is into preppy names), but papa said we should be proud of our Malay roots.

Bustamam is even more fun. He is wet, does not run when I try to catch him, and verrrryyyy squeezable.

Which is probably why mommy moved him to her office.

The Singapore Trip

A couple of weeks back we went to visit Mak Ngah in Singapore.

Mommy thought she could spend the day shopping in Orchard during the Great Singapore Sale. And papa thought mommy could get some decent work clothes and maybe a gadget or two for himself.

First, we dropped by at the entrance of Universal Studios (I'm too short and mommy's too scaredy cat for the rides).

Due to her anticipation to start shopping, mommy left all the photo-snapping to papa and only had this picture of me, Mak Ngah and her gorgeous handbag at USS car park:

Then Pak Ngah took the wrong turn and we ended up driving around Sentosa Island (mommy couldn't care less about the beautiful scenery).

Finally we arrived at Orchard Road and mommy was all ready to indulge.

Fat chance.

I made the adults spend most of the time chasing after me weaving in and out of the clothes racks. They gave up after one mall hee hee.
